WebMeUp Scam, The Downfall of WebMeUp SEO
I’ll be posting a follow up to my claims later this week. I wanted to get something posted on the web to help warn others. In the meantime, the details are below:
I recently posted a new review about SEOprofiler — check it out here
As scheduled, WebMeUp application and API were closed on July 11th, 2014.
Again, we want to say that we are terribly sorry it didn’t work out. We appreciate all the feedback and support we got from you — thank you so much for being with us!
WebMeUp Backlink Tool keeps on working and we’ll definitely continue supporting it. It’s a separate product specifically targeting link research with the world’s biggest index of external links. So, if you need a LOT of backlink data, check out this tool.
Also, we’ve been getting requests on how to transfer data from WebMeUp to other apps — here’s a list of tools (in no particular order) you may consider using for the exported project stats:
These are all good solid SEO tools that can be an alternative to WebMeUp, but of course you have to choose yourself (mention that you’re a WebMeUp user and you’ll get more favorable pricing offers).
Finally, we want to wish you all great success not only in online marketing, but in every aspect of your life!
Aleh Barysevich, WebMeUp COO
And the whole WebMeUp team
It’s official, they are pulling the plug and cancelling the service. WebMeUp is dead.
Part 1 – Outline
- Automatic billing was a nightmare
- Support was non-existent and unresponsive
- They turned off new sign ups without a clear explanation
- The support team cancelled my account without my consent
- They provided very misleading information as to why this happened and the future of WebMeUp
Part 2 – The Proof
Thanks for getting in touch.
> what happen to your new sign ups? why are they turned off?
We have closed new orders and signups due to certain technical issues we are facing, so I’m sorry to say it is not currently possible to start an account.
Should you have any other questions, please let us know.
thank you for writing to us.
> Our account says it is in “view-only mode”. It is acting like we haven’t paid. We have paid. Our payment goes through automatically.
Please, log int othe software once again – we have fixed the problem so now you account should be active.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
thank you for the response.
> While my account status is good when I login, I received an account cancellation notice from plimus. What was broken when my account was

Please, do not worry – we have cancelled the future charges for your account. The thing is that due to technical issues our software does not function properly now, so we do not want to charge fee for the service which does not operate as it should. That is why we have cancelled all future charges for your account, but have extended the subscription for free, so you can still use the software as before.
thanks for the response.
> I am very worried. My account says it only has 38 days left… I need you guys to start telling me the truth. What really is going on?
The problem is that the software does not operate, that iswhy we have decided that we will not charge our users for the service which is not working, so we are canceling paid subscriptions. Next week our developers will tell if they manage to fix the issue in the nearest future or not, so we will decide what to do next – either continue offering the service or discontinue it. In any case, we will update all our users with the decision.
thank you for writing to us.
> What has been decided? Can you at-least extend my account to 120 days?
> So I don’t have to worry about it closing up?
Unfortunately, the WebMeUp service is going to be discontinued in a month, that is why we have canceled all paid subscriptions for now. Please, visit this page to read about this in more details:
Please, make sure you export all your results before the software is down on July 11.
