How to Install the latest NVIDIA drivers in Ubuntu 12.04

Nvidia has recently released driver 304.37 for Uninx-based systems which fixes a critical vulnerability that allows local users to have root access on your system. In this page, we will help you install Nvidia driver 304.37 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint via PPA.

Another stable version of the Nvidia driver for Linux has been made available recently fixing many bugs and adding support for more GPUs which are as follows:
-GeForce GTX 680M
-Quadro K1000M
-Quadro K2000M
-Tesla K10

Installation of latest Nvidia drivers on Ubuntu/Mint, open terminal and enter commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-settings
